Welcome
We are located in Northwest Ohio surrounded by rich farmland and Ohio's largest inland lake. We typically run 50 brood cows with about half spring and half fall calvers.
Our cowherd is primarily victor based. We really like those dark red (and red eyed!), big hipped, deep bodied brood cows. We've worked hard to develop cow families, and you'll see the Mattie and Flash influence as you browse the website. Our cattle are maternal bred but also have seen success in the showring. Yet, the ultimate goal is still to produce front pasture females and Dams of Distinction.
In addition, we've selected for udder quality and milk production, and P606 has enabled us to make great progress in this area. We've also emphasized carcass traits, and the 745 x P606 cross typically produces a nice combination of ribeye size and marbling.
Our breeding program includes our tried and true favorites (745, 242, and P606), our own bulls (Blizzard and Feltons Pattern), and some newer genetics (Bar JZ Crossfire and Select Sires' 719T son - Sheyenne). We have Crossfire daughters in production and are very happy with their maternal ability.
We certainly believe that you can't manage what you don't measure. We actively participate in the AHA's TPR program and have been named Gold TPR breeders as a result. Typical performance data as well as ultrasound data are collected on all individuals.
Thanks for visiting and let us know if there's any way we can be of assistance.
